Wisdom Teeth Removal
Not every wisdom tooth needs removing. When one does — recurrent infection, decay it is impossible to restore, or damage to the tooth in front — a cone-beam scan shows exactly where the inferior alveolar nerve runs relative to the roots, which is what makes the procedure predictable.
A partially erupted wisdom tooth traps bacteria under the gum flap, causing repeated swelling, and often decays the second molar next to it — a healthy tooth lost to a tooth that serves no function.

Aftercare
Do not rinse for the first 24 hours — disturbing the clot is what causes a dry socket. Cold compresses on day one, gentle salt-water rinses from day two, and no smoking for at least a week.
