Dental Crowns
A crown covers the whole visible part of a tooth, binding the remaining structure together so it does not split under load. We use monolithic zirconia where the forces are highest and layered ceramic in the smile zone, and every crown is designed from a digital scan rather than a putty impression.
A large filling weakens a tooth from the inside; a root-treated tooth is more brittle still. A crown transfers chewing force to the outer walls instead of the fracture line, which is why it is recommended before the tooth breaks rather than after.
Benefits
- Digital scan instead of impression material
- Monolithic zirconia strength where it is needed
- Shade matched photographically to adjacent teeth
- Margins placed to protect gum health
- Two-visit workflow for international patients
The procedure
- 01 Assessment and radiograph of the remaining tooth
- 02 Core build-up if the tooth is heavily broken down
- 03 Preparation and digital scan
- 04 Temporary crown fitted
- 05 Shade and contour checked at try-in
- 06 Final cementation and bite adjustment
Technology
Intraoral scanning, CAD/CAM milling, monolithic zirconia and layered lithium disilicate.
Aftercare
Floss the crown margin daily — decay starts at the junction, not on the ceramic. A night guard is advised if you grind.

In our patients’ words
What convinced me was the mock-up. I walked around with the trial teeth for two days before anything was cut, and I could change the shape twice. The final result is exactly what I approved, not a surprise.

I had worn an upper denture for eleven years. The provisional bridge went in the same afternoon as the surgery. Six months later I ate a steak for the first time since 2013.

I live in Moscow and flew in twice in fourteen months. Everything else was photographs through the app. Dr Volkova replied to my questions herself, not through an assistant.
